"Climate change and environment" Showing off "Its developed services system" At the UAE Agricultural Conference

Al Ain, April 22 / WAM / His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, said that the Ministry is continuing its efforts in developing the service and legislative system to support the agricultural and livestock sector in the country, during its participation in the second edition of the “UAE Agricultural Conference and Exhibition”.

His Excellency indicated to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the Ministry currently provides more than 80 various services that do not only target consumers, residents, and investors within the country, but also extend to foreign trade through issuing health certificates, exchanging licenses, and facilitating import and export procedures related to the food and livestock sector.

He revealed the Ministry’s success, through the “Zero Bureaucracy” programme, in reducing and dissolving at least 100 procedural services over the past year, with the aim of accelerating the pace of work and facilitating the customer’s journey. He also announced the launch of the instant chat service via the “WhatsApp” application as a pilot phase, which aims to provide a flexible and easy means of communication with farmers, merchants and investors.

He explained that the exhibition represents a vital platform for linking farms and the government and private sectors, saying, “Our goal this year goes beyond merely supporting agricultural production. We seek to consolidate the economic and industrial thought of Emirati farmers. We do not want the farmer to be satisfied with selling his crop only on the shelves, but rather we urge him to enter the field of food manufacturing to enhance the added value of the local product, which will reflect positively on his financial return and support the national food security file.”

He stressed the importance of the dialogues and side meetings witnessed by the exhibition, which contribute to transferring capabilities and experiences to farmers, listening to their challenges and proposals, and linking them with major marketing companies and relevant institutions in the public and private sectors, to ensure the sustainability and growth of the agricultural sector in the UAE.
