The AFC rejects Al-Ahly youth’s protest…and hands them a decision without merit

In a shocking decision, the Asian Football Confederation officially informed Shabab Al-Ahly Club of the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee’s decision issued today rejecting the protest submitted by Shabab Al-Ahly Club regarding the arbitration errors witnessed in the Japanese “Machida” match, in the semi-finals of the AFC Elite Champions League, which ended with a 1-0 victory for Machida.
The rationale for the decision received by Shabab Al-Ahly Club stated: “Confirming the result of the match and rejecting the club’s request to replay the match or count the canceled goal.”
The decision came without any justifications or mention of the technical reasons for rejecting the protest, and it said that the “Al-Fursan” administration has 10 days to request the reasons for the decision, in preparation for legal escalation towards the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
