The Emirates Research Center holds its annual meeting and achieves research growth of 18%

Dubai, April 25 / WAM / The Board of Trustees of the Emirates Researchers Center for Research and Studies held its sixth annual meeting in conjunction with the official opening of the center’s new headquarters on the campus of the University of Rochester Technology in Dubai, in a step that reflects its institutional expansion and strengthening its academic and research presence.

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Center’s Board of Trustees, in the presence of Dr. Youssef Al-Assaf, President of the University of Rochester for Technology in Dubai, and an elite group of university leaders and board members.

During the meeting, the achievements of the past year were reviewed, which witnessed the organization of 10 major international scientific conferences and the achievement of more than 3.4 million media appearances, within the framework of strengthening the center’s global presence and expanding the scope of its academic influence.

The Council discussed the most prominent performance indicators during the year 2025/2026, which reflected remarkable growth. The number of published research papers reached 178 new papers, a growth rate of 18%, in addition to achieving 265,000 views and scientific citations, a 32% increase, with 183,000 new researchers joining during this period, which strengthens the center’s position as a leading research institution at the regional and international levels.

The Center publishes 15 peer-reviewed scientific journals covering various specialties, and indexed across more than 13,400 international academic libraries, which enhances its position among the most prominent scientific publishing bodies in the world, in addition to its efforts in the fields of training and partnerships. 32 training programs were implemented, 1,120 certificates were issued, and 41 memorandums of understanding were signed, with a growth rate of 71%, within the framework of supporting scientific research and enhancing international cooperation.

The center is working on completing 3 journals under review within “Scopus” for the year 2026, and a plan to complete the inclusion of the rest of the journals by 2027, and continues to consolidate its position among the most prominent scientific publishing bodies in the world, based on the concept of the universality of things, by expanding the scope of the spread of knowledge and linking it to academic communities, in a natural extension of the UAE’s vision towards consolidating its position as a global center for culture, science and intellectual dialogue.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, confirmed that the meeting, which was held in light of the “Proud of the Emirates” campaign, reflects the spirit of institutional work and integration among the center’s members.

He said that the achievements achieved are the result of a continuous collective effort and reflect a firm belief in the role of scientific research in serving development, expressing his aspiration to continue this path with confident steps during the next stage.

For his part, Dr. Youssef Al-Assaf said that hosting the Emirates Research Center at the University of Rochester Technology reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing the environment of innovation and scientific research, and its belief that academic and industrial partnerships are the primary driver for transforming pioneering ideas into practical solutions that contribute to building a sustainable future, and support the UAE’s position as a global center for knowledge and technological progress.

In turn, Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Center and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, said that this meeting represents an important station to reflect on the achievements that have been achieved, which came as a result of diligent work and fruitful cooperation between the work teams, adding that these results confirm that the progress witnessed by the Center is a direct reflection of real commitment and sincere efforts, which prompts continued work towards achieving more excellence not in the name of the Center but in the name of the UAE.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of the next phase was emphasized, which will witness the expansion of research programs and initiatives, in addition to strengthening academic partnerships, which will consolidate the role of the Emirates Researchers Center as a leading scientific platform that contributes to the production of knowledge and its use to serve society.
