The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority celebrated 27 winners of the Local Content in its fourth edition under the slogan "We celebrate your contribution"Under the patronage of the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, and a number of Their Excellencies, representatives of government agencies and the private sector, and officials from various sectors.

The Local Content Award is a national initiative launched by the Authority with the aim of motivating government agencies, the private sector, state-owned companies, the non-profit sector, and individuals to adopt best practices in developing and developing local content, to maximize the benefit from Purchasing power within the Kingdom.

The ceremony included a speech by the Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors: During which he confirmed that the percentage of local content in government purchases recorded remarkable growth. It increased from 28% as a baseline for the year 2018 AD to more than 51% by the end of 2025 AD, indicating that this progress reflects a real shift within the purchases of government agencies and the private sector towards Domestic spending to achieve a strong and sustainable national economy.

Developing local content

Al-Khorayef explained that the authority continued to implement policies and tools that have an impact on the development of local content, as the agreements signed on the method of localization of industry and transfer of knowledge amounted to about 80 agreements from the start of activating the method until the end of the year 2025 AD, with an investment volume of more than 18 billion Saudi riyals.

He also indicated that the award recorded a qualitative growth in the number of applicants, by a percentage exceeding 131% Compared to the previous edition, which reflects the widening scope of participation, the high level of awareness of the importance of local content, and the growing desire to participate and excel among various groups.

The fourth edition of the award included 22 awards and 5 honorary certificates, and witnessed a qualitative development that made it more comprehensive and linked to national transformation paths, through the creation of two paths within the non-profit sector axis, in recognition of its role in economic and societal development and content empowerment. Local.

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority

The focus of government agencies fell under two main tracks and three sub-centers. In the award for excellence in local content for the highest spending entities, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority won first place, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics won second place, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development also won third place.

In the field of the Excellence Award in Local Content for medium and low spending entities, the General Authority for Roads took first place, followed in second place by the Ministry of Energy, while the General Authority for Ports won third place.

The state-owned companies axis also includes one track, which includes an award and two certificates of honor, as this axis aims to measure the extent to which state-owned companies distinguish themselves by preferring local content in their work and purchases, as the STC First place in the Excellence Award for Preferring Local Content, Airports Holding Company won second place, and the National Water Company won third place.

The private sector and small enterprises

The private sector axis included 13 awards within the track of excellence in local content for large enterprises and small and medium enterprises, which were presented to distinguished establishments in raising the percentage of local content within their spending. In large facilities, Advanced Communications Systems and Solutions Company won within the Communications and Information Technology Services Group, Nasser Manee Al-Khelaiwi Contracting Company won in the Building, Construction, Maintenance, Cleaning and Operations Group, as well as Protection Screens Company for Security Guards in the General Services Group, Al Arabiya Technical Contracting Company in the Financial and Consulting and Professional Services Group, the International Marine Industries Company within the Manufacturing and Mining Industries Group, and finally the Saudi Energy Company in the Energy and Water Group.

In the small and medium enterprises track, the Cybersecurity Encrypted Text Company won within the Communications and Information Technology Services Group, the Saudi Facilities Management Company in the Building, Construction, Maintenance, Cleaning and Operations Group, as well as the Sharq Driving School Company in the Public Services Group, the Saudi Technicians Company Saudi Tech Engineering Consultations within the Financial Services, Consulting and Professional Services Group, Intra Defense Technologies Company in the Manufacturing and Mining Industries Group, and in the Energy and Water Group the Aquapower Distribution Company Limited was awarded.

Fal Law Firm and Legal Consultations also obtained a certificate of honor in the development process in local content. For its distinction in achieving the highest rate of development in local content.

The non-profit sector

Within the non-profit sector axis; Nusk Hajj and Umrah Foundation won the Excellence Award in Local Content for NGOs, along with the Tawafuq Association for Family Reform in Medina, which won the Excellence Award in Local Content for NGOs.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of the winners in the Individuals Axis, which aims to appreciate their contributions to raising awareness of local content and its impact on the national economy. Participant Hattan Tashkandi won first place, participant Yara Al-Shehri won second place, and participant Yousef Al-Mazyad won third place.

The ceremony was sponsored by the Sir Electric Vehicles Company and Asas Company for the Development and Operation of Industrial Cities, in addition to the participation of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) as a success partner. Emphasizing the importance of integration between the public and private sectors in enabling local content initiatives.

It is noteworthy that the award has witnessed, through its successive editions, a remarkable maturity and development in its axes and paths, as the total number of all winners since its launch has reached more than 90 winners. Which contributed to enhancing The level of participation and the expansion of the scope of competition among various entities and individuals.
