Saeed Al-Hajri meets the President of Azerbaijan

Baku, April 29 / WAM / His Excellency Saeed Al Hajri, Minister of State, met with His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during a working visit to Azerbaijan. During the meeting, ways of developing bilateral relations and enhancing joint cooperation in various fields were discussed.

His Excellency conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, to His Excellency, and their wishes for his country and its people for further progress and prosperity.

For his part, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan conveyed his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, and his wishes to the UAE for further progress and development.

His Excellency Al Hajri discussed with His Excellency Aliyev the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Azerbaijan and ways to strengthen and develop them. They also reviewed the latest developments in the work of the Cooperation Committee for the Strategic Partnership between the two countries, and emphasized the diversity of the projects and sectors it includes, praising the efforts of the concerned teams in implementing sustainable projects with tangible results. The two sides also discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, in addition to future development projects between the two countries.

His Excellency Aliyev stressed his country’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the UAE and advance bilateral relations in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed developments in the situation in the region, where His Excellency Aliyev indicated that during his calls with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the State, “may God protect him,” he stressed his country’s rejection of the Iranian attacks that targeted the UAE and the countries of the region. In this context, His Excellency expressed his aspiration for a long-term and sustainable ceasefire.

For his part, His Excellency Al Hajri expressed the UAE’s appreciation for the position of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the face of the treacherous Iranian terrorist attacks that targeted it and a number of countries in the region.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Al Balushi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, His Excellency Omran Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Science and Advanced Technology, and His Excellency Mohammed Al Abbar, founder and managing director of Emaar.
