Experts: Policies supporting national industry reflect the UAE’s orientation towards building a diversified, knowledge-based economy

Sharjah, April 29 / WAM / The initiatives and decisions of the wise leadership in support of the national industrial sector reflect a strategic direction to enhance the position of the local industry by enhancing the presence of the national product in sales outlets and electronic platforms, in line with the economic diversification strategy in the United Arab Emirates.

Experts and specialists stressed the importance of enhancing the presence of national products in sales outlets, pointing out that the effects of these policies are not limited to the industrial sector only, but extend to other sectors related to it, such as logistics services, distribution, e-commerce, and supply chains, which creates an integrated economic system that supports sustainable economic growth.

Experts explained that the policies supporting the national industry reflect the UAE’s orientation towards building a diversified economy based on production and knowledge at a time when the country seeks to enhance the contribution of non-oil sectors to economic growth and consolidate its position as a regional center for industry, trade and investment.

Zayed Al Baddad, CEO of Al Baddad Holding Group, said that enhancing the presence of national products in sales outlets represents an important step to consolidate consumer confidence in the local product, especially since the UAE industry has witnessed, over the past years, a remarkable development in quality and innovation standards. He pointed out that industrial companies in the country now have the ability to compete in global markets and that supporting the presence of their products in the local market provides a strong demand base that helps them expand and invest in new production lines.

He explained that when the consumer chooses the national product, he contributes directly to supporting the national economy, enhancing industrial investments, and creating new job opportunities, noting that the industrial sector is linked to a large number of economic activities such as transportation, logistics services, trade, and advanced technologies.

He stressed that government decisions that strengthen the national industry open the way for local companies to benefit from the rapid growth in the e-commerce and modern distribution sectors, which expands the reach of Emirati products to consumers inside and outside the country.

For his part, economic expert Dr. Khaled Al-Nabulsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ultimate Power Solutions Group, said, “The new decisions reflect an important shift in economic policies towards enhancing the role of industry in the national economy, noting that supporting national products in sales outlets and digital platforms represents a strategic step that enhances the increase in local demand for industrial production.”

He explained that empowering the local industry contributes to raising the production capacity of factories, expanding their investments, and enhancing the ability of UAE companies to compete with imported products, especially in light of the great development witnessed by local industries in terms of quality and technology used in production.

He pointed out that the UAE has strong capabilities to develop its industrial sector, including advanced infrastructure, specialized industrial zones, world-class ports and airports, which gives national industries greater ability to expand in regional and international markets.
