Ashraf Ben Sharqi scored two goals and provided an assist for Hussein El Shahat in Al-Ahly’s 3-0 victory over host Zamalek on Friday, reviving the defending champion’s hopes of winning the Egyptian Premier League.

Al-Ahly raised its score to 47 points in third place, three points behind Zamalek, the leader, and Pyramids, second in the standings.

After each team missed a penalty kick in the second half, through Hossam Abdel Majeed, the Zamalek player, and Mahmoud Hassan (Trezeguet), Al-Ahly’s captain, Bencharki scored the third goal after exchanging the ball with Imam Ashour in the 74th minute.
