Al Wahda defender Sasha expressed his great happiness at winning the Professional Football League Cup title, stressing that his team was prepared for all scenarios of the final match.

Sasha said in statements after the victory over Al Ain, on Friday, on penalties 4-2 (regular time 0-0): “The victory was achieved after a difficult confrontation against a strong team,” noting that “the chances of the two teams were equal despite some nominations that went in Al Ain’s favour.”

He added: “We believed in our ability to win. Final matches are always equal, and the chances are equal for both parties, but we succeeded in winning it in the end, which makes us very happy.”

He explained, “The coronation carries special importance for the team, in light of a season that witnessed fluctuations in results, but it is an important achievement for fans and players alike, and it will contribute to giving everyone a positive morale boost.”

Sasha pointed out, “This achievement will give the team a strong boost, especially with a number of matches remaining, which imposes the necessity of ending the season in the same spirit to obtain one of the qualifying places for the AFC Champions League.”

He continued, “The team has a distinguished group of players capable of achieving more successes,” stressing that “this group is capable of winning more than one title and not being satisfied with just one championship.”
