المملكة: Launching a digital platform for organizing "Scrap"…and opening registration for tenants

Announced Scrapwithin the governorate, and raising operating efficiency in line with the Digital transformation and improving the quality of services.

This trend comes as an extension of the existing partnership between the concerned authorities to develop and activate digital solutions, which contributes to enabling technical transformation projects and enhancing the efficiency of services provided in vital sectors, especially those related to the management of industrial and service activities.

The supervisory authorities called on all tenants in the scrap complex to take the initiative to register via the designated electronic platform, with the necessity of fulfilling the basic requirements, most notably entering the merchant’s contract number with Jeddah Company, to ensure benefit from the available digital services package.

Urban Development in Jeddah

The platform is one of the main enablers of the sector regulation project, as it provides a unified technical environment that raises the level of transparency and enhances compliance, in addition to facilitating the management of operational processes for beneficiaries, in line with the objectives of urban development in Jeddah. It also contributes to supporting the integration of various systems and raising the efficiency of operations management through a data-based platform.

The platform provides an integrated package of services. This includes enabling users to view and participate in auctions electronically in an organized manner, managing and updating data on facilities’ vehicles, in addition to registering employees’ data and regulating their powers, in a way that enhances the integrity and accuracy of information. It also allows issuing entry permits for vehicles and visitors digitally, with the ability to track entry and exit movements with high efficiency.

The “Scrap Complex” project comes as part of efforts to develop a model business environment in the “Metal City” designated for scrap and construction activities, which is located in the south of the governorate on the road. Al-Laith, with the aim of regulating the market and reducing irregular practices.

Integrated infrastructure

The project includes developing an integrated infrastructure extending over an area estimated at approximately 5 million square metres, which includes areas designated for activities, in addition to service and industrial facilities, an advanced control center, and security systems and modern technology for managing movement and monitoring operations, in a way that enhances levels of safety and sustainability.

The Jeddah Municipality seeks, through these initiatives, to support Local content, stimulating light industries, improving the quality of life, by adopting modern technical solutions, and providing an organized and safe work environment that contributes to achieving sustainable economic development in the city.
