The UAE basketball team’s program in the Gulf Games

The first UAE basketball team launches the campaign to defend the gold medal in the Gulf Games for the 2022 edition, by meeting the host of the Qatari team on May 15, in a match that brings them together in the Al Gharafa Club hall for the first round, on the fourth day of the tournament held in its fourth edition in Qatar during the period between the 11 and 22 of this month.
On the 16th of this month, the basketball team will play its second match against its Bahraini brother, and the next day (May 17), Al-Abyad will conclude the preliminary round by meeting the Saudi national team.
Basketball competitions in the 2026 edition will be limited to four teams, with the competition system stipulating that the preliminary round be held in a single-stage league system, after which the ranking of the teams from first to fourth will be determined, and the identity of the two semi-final matches will be determined on May 19th, in which the winner of the preliminary round will meet the fourth-place team, and the runner-up will meet the third-place team, in two matches that determine the two sides of the final match, which will be held on the 20th of this month.
It is noteworthy that the basketball team won the gold medal in the Gulf Games in Kuwait in 2022 by defeating the host Kuwaiti team with a score of (76-73).
