Dubai Basketball: Our project is ambitious and winning European titles is our top priority
Dubai, May 5 / WAM / Kleiman Pribilic, captain of the Dubai Basketball team, confirmed that the club project is considered one of the most prominent sports projects in Europe during the last 25 years, pointing out that teamwork within the system, from players and technical and administrative staff, represents a basic pillar of success.
Pribilic explained in his statements that carrying the captaincy represents an important milestone in his career, stressing his keenness to provide a positive role model on and off the field, in a way that supports the team’s ambitions in its continental participations, especially in the Adriatic Basketball Association and the European Basketball League.
The Dubai Basketball Team continues its journey in the Adriatic League competitions, as it prepares to compete in the quarter-finals in its second season, after achieving a remarkable achievement by reaching the semi-finals in its first participation last year.
Pribilic pointed out that the positive atmosphere and great public support in Dubai constitute an important motivation for the team, pointing out that the cultural diversity in the city contributed to building a wide fan base in a short period, especially with the distinguished attendance in the Coca-Cola Arena.
The Slovenian player joined the ranks of Dubai Basketball last season, after a busy career with a number of major European basketball clubs.
He added that playing in Dubai gives him a clear advantage, in light of the public support that was reflected positively in the results, expressing his aspiration to continue this momentum during the next stage.
Prebilic stressed that representing Dubai and the UAE in continental championships is a great responsibility, requiring continuous work to prove the ability to compete, expressing his ambition to lead the team to achieve its first title, and to continue building for the third season in a row.
Last month, Dubai Basketball Club concluded its historic first participation in the European Basketball League, as the first Arab team to compete in this continental championship alongside elite European clubs.
