50 competitions at the opening of the Emirates Athletics Cup at the Dubai Police Officers Club

The Emirates Athletics Cup competitions for all age levels for male and female categories, organized by the Emirates Athletics Federation, will start tomorrow, Friday, at the Dubai Police Officers Club track, during the days of May 8, 9, and 10, with wide participation from clubs and specialized centers.
The first day’s activities will witness the holding of 50 various competitions, including 3,000 and 5,000 meter walk races, and 80, 100, 150, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,500, and 3,000 meter races, in addition to 400 meter hurdles races and 2,000 meter steeplechase races, for the junior, junior, and youth categories under 16, 18, and 20 years old, and the 2000 meter steeplechase races. The first day’s competitions also include field competitions, including the long, triple and high jump, in addition to the javelin throw, hammer throw, shot put, and discus throw.
The organizing committee confirmed in a statement today, Thursday, that all technical and administrative arrangements for the tournament have been completed, with a large participation from clubs and specialized centers, as the number of participants reached 560 male and female players, in one of the largest tournaments of the local season in terms of the number of competitions and participants.
Member of the Board of Directors of the Athletics Federation, Chairman of the National Teams Committee, Rashid Nasser Al Ali, said: “The Emirates Cup Championship, at the end of the current season, represents an important station for assessing the levels of male and female players before the upcoming external competitions, whether at the regional or continental level,” noting that “the tournament reflects the keenness of the Federation’s Board of Directors to enhance technical competitiveness, develop the levels of national teams, and work to prepare a promising generation of champions capable of representing the country honorably in various future forums.”
