Abu Dhabi, May 20 / WAM / The Portuguese capital, Lisbon, will host the first rounds of Al Shiraa International Stables in the Lisbon International Three-Star Show Jumping Championship, whose activities will be held during the period from May 21 to 24, with the participation of the elite of international riders and horses.

The championship competitions will be held on outdoor grass fields, as part of the Al Shiraa Stables’ European Summer Participation Series, under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy, President of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, owner and founder of Al Shiraa Stables.

Participation in the first international rounds of Al Sheraa is of great importance, as it is the first European Nations Championship in which the Al Sheraa Knights Show Jumping Team participates during the outdoor summer season, after successful participation in international championships organized by Emirati equestrian clubs, under the supervision of the International Federation and the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation.

The list of the Al Sheraa team includes riders, Omar Abdulaziz Al Marzouqi with the horse “Shako Bay” (12 years old), Humaid Abdullah Al Muhairi with the horse “Funchesty” (12 years old), Abdullah Mohammed Al Marri and the horse “BBS Magriquor” (14 years old), and Salem Ahmed Al Suwaidi with the horse “Flon Flon” (11 years old), all of which are first-class horses in Al Sheraa stables.

The first team competition in the Lisbon Championship will be held the day after tomorrow, Friday, over the 1.50-meter hurdles, and will conclude with the Grand Prix competition next Sunday over the 1.55-meter hurdles, and veterinary examination procedures will begin tomorrow for the participating horses.

These international tours come within the strategy of Al Sheraa Stables, which aims to enhance the presence of UAE riders in major international forums, and raise their readiness for upcoming international and global competitions, most notably the World Championships, the European Nations Cup Championships, and the competitions classified by the International Equestrian Federation 2026.
