To ease sanctions, Britain allows imports of Russian diesel and kerosene

Declared Britain eases its sanctions against Moscow by re-allowing the import of Diesel and Kerosene extracted from Russian oil refined in other countries, sparking criticism from the opposition to the Labor government.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a phone call on Wednesday evening that, as a result of the measures taken by the United Kingdom so far, there will be less Russian oil on the market, which will lead to a weakening of Russia, according to a Downing Street spokesman.
The license is indefinite and will be reviewed periodically, according to the Ministry of Business website. And trade.
The government also issued a temporary license to ease sanctions imposed on liquefied natural gas exported from some Russian factories.
Gradual implementation of new sanctions
The United Kingdom announced in October that it would ban imports derived from Russian crude oil, as part of a campaign to cut off revenues that fund the Russian war in Ukraine.
But Starmer said the government was issuing two short-term, targeted licenses to gradually implement the new sanctions and protect British consumers.
He added "This is not a question of lifting current sanctions in any way, and we will continue to work with our allies on additional sanctions packages"
Starmer informed Zelensky that Britain "Measures to stifle the Russian economy intensify and include a new sanctions package"
Downing Street said that Starmer indicated that this was part of an ongoing commitment to do everything in his power to weaken Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war machine."
Accusations from the Conservative Party
Conservative Party leader Kimmy Badenoch accused the British Prime Minister of choosing to buy bad Russian oil. This money will be used to finance the killing of Ukrainian soldiers.
Britain imposed a strict sanctions regime on Russia following its invasion of Ukraine in 2022, targeting oil exports in addition to more than 3,000 individuals and companies.
This decision comes after the United States lifted sanctions imposed on Russian oil shipments found at sea, after they caused Its joint war with Israel on Iran has reduced global oil supplies and dramatically increased energy prices.
