The Saudi Football Association explained in an official statement: “The Saudi Football Federation would like to clarify the delay in the player Saud Abdul Hamid joining the national team camp in the final stage of the preparatory program in preparation for the 2026 World Cup, due to his inability to reach the capital, Riyadh, today, as a result of his private vehicle being stolen in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, while he was with his family to get married, which resulted in him losing his personal belongings, including his passport.”
The statement added: “The Saudi Football Federation, in coordination with the Ministry of Sports, is following up on the investigation into the case, in addition to following up with the Saudi Embassy in the Netherlands, to obtain the necessary documents to join the team’s delegation.”
