My profits investing in Dubai are greater than my profits in football

Former Manchester United star, Rio Ferdinand, revealed that he now earns more income than he earned during the peak of his football career with the English club, where his weekly salary amounted to about 120,000 pounds sterling, after moving to Dubai and expanding his investment and media activity in recent years.

The Daily Mail newspaper reported statements made by the Manchester United star, on a talk show, during which he confirmed that recent years have witnessed the highest level of his financial income, in light of his transformation from a former football player to a prominent figure in the field of digital media and entrepreneurship, with his possession of a diverse portfolio of commercial and investment projects.

Ferdinand is considered one of the most prominent defenders in the history of Manchester United, as he won six Premier League titles with the team under the leadership of legendary coach Sir Alex Ferguson, in addition to a career full of titles and achievements that made him one of the most important players of his generation in European football.

The English star explained that after his retirement, he turned to media work through television analysis, podcasts, and content creation, before launching his own project, which became one of the most prominent sports programs in Britain, and hosts prominent figures from the world of football and sports.

The newspaper pointed out that Ferdinand has enhanced his income through multiple investments in different fields, including sports talent management, real estate, and emerging companies, in addition to his business partnerships in Dubai, where he currently resides and benefits from its investment environment.

Ferdinand emphasized that a large part of his current financial success is due to the diversification of his sources of income outside football, in addition to his direct control over his media projects, which gave him greater independence compared to his period of work with traditional media institutions.

The newspaper concluded: “Ferdinand’s experience reflects an increasing shift in the path of football stars after retirement, as many of them are turning to building commercial and media empires that generate income for them greater than what they were receiving during their professional career, inside the green rectangle.”
