Cosnefroi guides "Emirates Cycling" nickname "Boucle de la Mayenne" French

Paris, June 1, 2018 (WAM) – Frenchman Benoit Cosnefroy, rider of the Emirates XRG Cycling Team, was crowned champion of the Boucle de la Maine in France, after topping the overall standings, achieving his first title with the Emirates team since joining during the last winter transfer period.
Cosnefroi’s coronation came yesterday after he completed the third and final stage in the main group, maintaining the lead in the overall standings that he seized after his distinguished victory in the second stage, when he excelled in a race characterized by strength and competition and was decided by a wonderful start towards the finish line.
The French cyclist entered the final stage with a lead of only 7 seconds over his closest competitor, which forced his teammates to remain in a high state of concentration throughout the course of the race.
The Emirates XRG team succeeded in controlling the pace of the stage and monitoring escape attempts, to ensure that the situation remained under control until the last meters.
With the advanced group catching up before the finish line, the stage was decided through a group speed race, where the Dutchman Olaf Koe won the third stage, while Cosnefroi crossed the finish line safely within the main group to confirm his crowning of the overall title.
