المملكة: Beginning to implement the decision to raise the percentage of Saudization in procurement professions

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced the start of implementation of the decision to lift in procurement professions in the private sector to 70% as of May 31, 2026, and the decision includes establishments that employ three or more employees in the targeted professions, according to the names and definitions approved in the unified Saudi classification of professions.

The decision includes 12 professions, the most prominent of which are: purchasing manager, purchasing representative, contracts manager, warehouse keeper, and services manager. Logistics, warehouse manager, bidding specialist, procurement specialist, e-commerce specialist, market research specialist, warehouse specialist, and private label supply specialist.

The Ministry’s oversight teams began monitoring the commitment of the targeted establishments to implementing the decision and achieving the specified localization rates, within the framework of enhancing and creating a stable and productive work environment.
The Ministry also confirmed the application of statutory penalties on non-compliant establishments after the end of the prescribed period.

The decision comes within the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to raise nationalization rates in various professions and sectors, in a way that contributes to achieving the objectives of the labor market strategy, empowering national cadres, and expanding their job opportunities in accordance with the needs of the current labor market.
