"Purehealth" Laying the foundation stone for a hospital "New Corniche" In Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, June 8, 2017 – The PureHealth Group laid the foundation stone for the “New Corniche – SEHA” Hospital, which specializes in women’s and newborn health, marking the start of construction work for the project, which constitutes a basic pillar within the first specialized and integrated medical city for women’s and children’s medicine in Abu Dhabi.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, Her Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, Shaista Asif, CEO of PureHealth Group, Rashid Saif Al Qubaisi, Chief Operating Officer of PureHealth Group, Saeed Jaber Al Kuwaiti, CEO of SEHA Group, Asma Ali Al Halsa, CEO of Corniche Hospital – SEHA, in addition to an elite group of personalities. The Medical City provides more than 35 subspecialties for pediatric care, including oncology, organ transplantation, diabetes, allergy, immunology, neurological rehabilitation and behavioral sciences, enhancing Abu Dhabi’s position as an advanced and integrated destination for specialized healthcare for women and children in the Middle East region.

The current hospital includes the largest and most modern third-level neonatal intensive care unit in the country, which receives nearly half of the neonatal intensive care cases in Abu Dhabi. It was also a pioneer in developing dedicated pathways for adolescents and children with autism through the behavioral sciences wing.

The New Corniche Hospital – SEHA continues to build on the ancient medical legacy of the Corniche Hospital through an integrated treatment environment that combines advanced clinical techniques with family-centered, culturally sensitive human care. Rafid Company, the specialized health procurement and infrastructure arm of the PureHealth Group, is implementing the project to support the development of a world-class health facility that meets the needs of future generations.

The New Corniche Hospital includes 357 beds, and extends over a total area of 108,000 square meters distributed over nine floors. Its medical facilities include 25 prenatal care rooms with 6 stimulation rooms, 11 beds in the intensive care unit, 2 intensive care isolation rooms, 34 beds in the neonatal intensive care unit, 80 special care units for newborns, 148 rooms for postpartum care and gynecology, and 4 isolation rooms. Dedicated, 44 VIP suites, in addition to 3 royal suites.

Her Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi stressed that the establishment of the “New Corniche Hospital – SEHA” embodies Abu Dhabi’s firm commitment to improving the health of women and children as they are the basic pillar of the family and society, and reflects the emirate’s keenness to empower families and enhance their quality of life by providing specialized health services in accordance with the highest international standards, pointing out that the project constitutes a qualitative addition to the integrated health care system in Abu Dhabi, and supports efforts to consolidate its position as a leading global destination in the health sector, in conjunction with preparations to welcome the Year of the Family.

Shaista Asif, CEO of PureHealth Group, pointed out that the New Corniche Hospital – SEHA represents a new station in the process of supporting families in Abu Dhabi that extends over five decades, explaining that the hospital was designed according to an integrated model that focuses on the needs of mothers, newborns and children, and provides them with specialized health care within a therapeutic environment that takes into account the needs of the family in all its details, thus enhancing the sustainability of health services for future generations and consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position at the forefront of global health care centers.
