المملكة: During May… more than 4,000 permits were issued to regulate road network work

Issued The General Authority for Roads More than 4,000 permits were issued to organize works on the road network during the month of May; This is within the framework of its ongoing efforts to ensure road safety and raise its operational efficiency.
These statistics come to confirm the Authority’s pivotal role in supervising The road sector and organizing the work carried out on it in accordance with the highest approved standards and procedures.

The most prominent permits issued

The Authority explained that the total permits issued during the month of May amounted to (4,863) permits, which included (4,569) permits for exceptional loads, (193) permits for drilling, (3) permits for extending drilling, and (98) requests for clearance, noting that these statistics reflect the effectiveness of the issuance service. Permissions on Road network outside the urban area, which the Authority launched on its website.

Raising the level of safety

This service aims to facilitate permit applications, raise the level of safety, and enhance the experience of companies by improving the level of services provided to them, based on the Authority’s role in organizing and supervising the road sector.

Through these efforts, the Authority seeks to raise the level of safety and readiness on the road network, and achieve the objectives of the road sector program, by reaching the sixth global classification in the road quality index, and reducing the number of deaths on the roads. To less than (5) cases per (100) thousand people, it also aims to cover the road network with traffic safety factors according to the International Road Assessment Program (IRAP) classification, and to maintain an advanced level of services for the road network’s capacity.
