Emirates Cycling won the seventh stage of the French Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Mexican Isaac del Toro, rider of the Emirates Team –

The stage witnessed one of the most difficult stages of the race, and concluded with the ascent to the Grand Colombier hill, where an offensive group launched early before the competition for victory was limited to the most prominent candidates during the final ascent.

The decision came when Spaniard Juan Ayuso launched an early attack on the first slopes of the rise, and succeeded in building a time advantage, but Del Toro maintained his rhythm with the support of his teammates in the Emirates team, before gradually reducing the gap and launching a strong attack in the last two kilometers, catching Ayuso and overtaking him about 1.7 kilometers before the finish line, and then continuing his progress towards winning the stage.

According to the results of the seventh stage, Isaac del Toro topped the standings with a time of 3:41:41 hours, followed by Spain’s Juan Ayuso, 24 seconds behind, and then Norwegian Tobias Johansen, 38 seconds behind.

In the overall standings of the race after the end of the seventh stage, German Luke Tuckwell maintained the lead with a total time of 25:59:09 hours, followed by American Matthew Jorgenson, 42 seconds behind, while Isaac del Toro advanced to third place, 49 seconds behind the leader.
