Proud of “Nashama”… and delaying the “hydration” break contributed to Algeria’s goal

The technical director of the Jordanian national team, Jamal Al-Salami, confirmed that “Al-Nashama” played a great match against the Algerian national team, expressing at the same time his great pride in the players and the efforts they made on the field during the match that witnessed the Jordanian national team advance first, before its Algerian counterpart returned and turned the result in their favor with a score of 2-1, in the confrontation that brought them together in the second round of the tenth group competitions in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

Al-Salami pointed out that the “hydration” break contributed to Algeria scoring the equalizer, and said: “The delay of the moisturization break by the referee of the match was a direct cause of this, given his need at that moment to give the players new tactical instructions and directions that keep pace with the course of the match.”

Al-Salami said in press statements: “The tactical method adopted by the Jordanian team was based on closing the sides and reducing the danger of the opponent’s attack, which contributed to maintaining the result for long periods of the match,” stressing that the Jordanian team wasted a number of opportunities to score.

Al-Salami praised the outstanding level presented by goalkeeper Yazid Abu Laila, noting that he played a great match, and attributed scoring the first goal for the Algerian national team to an organizational aspect linked to arbitration decisions.

He continued: “Such strong global confrontations require gaining more field experience to deal with their precise details.”

Regarding the next match against Argentina at the end of the group stage, Al-Salami concluded by saying: “It will be an honorable match against the world champion, and I hope that the Jordanian team will perform at the level it deserves in that match.”
