Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police: Our investment in awareness is to protect our communities from drugs
ABU DHABI, 26 JUNE / WAM / His Excellency Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaytoun Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, affirmed that World Anti-Drug Day embodies the international community’s commitment to confronting one of the most dangerous scourges that threaten the security, stability and development of societies, pointing out that drugs do not only target individuals, but rather their negative effects extend to families, institutions and nations.
His Excellency explained that the celebration of World Anti-Drug Day this year emphasizes the importance of uniting efforts and enhancing joint responsibility between government institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations, families and individuals, to confront this scourge and reduce its risks and negative effects on the present of societies and the future of their generations. He stressed that the slogan of the national anti-drug campaign for this year, “Uniting ranks… to eradicate the scourge” embodies the importance of integrating roles and concerted efforts to protect society and promote drug prevention.
He added that the Abu Dhabi Police General Command continues to work according to an integrated, proactive approach based on developing security capabilities, enhancing cooperation with local and international partners, and employing modern technologies and artificial intelligence to monitor and combat drug-related crimes, in addition to implementing innovative awareness programs targeting various segments of society, especially the youth, as they are the basic pillar of the nation’s future.
His Excellency praised the great and sincere efforts made by members of the police and security services, concerned authorities and strategic partners in combating drugs and protecting society from their dangers, stressing that the qualitative achievements achieved in this field are the result of joint work and sincere national will, calling on God Almighty to preserve the United Arab Emirates, its wise leadership and its honorable people, and to perpetuate the blessing of security, safety and prosperity.
