المملكة: Epidemiological monitoring to enhance the protection of dairy projects from animal diseases

Research by the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases «Prevention» Updates on the epidemiological situation For foot-and-mouth disease and nodular dermatitis, with the aim of enhancing biosecurity and ensuring the safety of dairy production.
This came during the second meeting of 2026, held by the Technical Committee of the Center’s Dairy Veterinary Council. The attendees discussed the results of the recently implemented epidemiological survey in dairy projects.
The committee reviewed the paths of the ongoing vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease locally and globally.
Maintaining the quality of production
The discussions touched on mechanisms for healthy and preventive dealing with abortion cases recorded in livestock production projects.
The discussions included following up on developments in the use of antimicrobials in those projects to maintain the quality of production.
These moves come as part of efforts to monitor epidemiological indicators of nodular dermatitis and limit its spread.
These efforts aim to strengthen the animal health system and support the sustainability of dairy projects. Tracking disease developments contributes to applying the highest standards of safety and productivity in the food sector in the Kingdom.
