Chakara advances to third place in the “Race to Dubai” golf tournament

Spaniard Eugenio Lopez Chacara advanced to third place with 2,107 points in the world rankings issued on Monday for the “Race to Dubai” in the DB World Tour competitions, thanks to his winning the second title in a row, after his victory in the Italian Open Championship, which concluded at the Circolo Golf Club Torino, after winning the Dutch Open title at the beginning of this June.
Chakara’s victory was well-deserved, as he finished the competition with a total of 24 strokes under par, with 66, 65, 65, and 64 strokes respectively in the four rounds of the tournament, five strokes ahead of Englishman Matt Wallace, who finished runner-up with 19 strokes under par.
Born in the Spanish capital, Madrid, Chakara continued to shine on the golf courses. He was a promising football player before he decided to focus on golf after an injury to his wrist. Thanks to this victory, Chakara gained 585 points, starting to compete with the American Patrick Reed, who leads the “Race to Dubai” classification this season with 2690 points, and the Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, the defending champion, who comes in second with 2269 points.

This victory also guaranteed the Spanish player a place to participate in the 154th British Open next month at the Royal Birkdale Club, and he added: “I am very excited.
