One change in the “Atlas Lions” lineup against Canada

Captain Alphonso Davies starts the match on the bench for Canada’s national team in their World Cup Round of 16 match against Morocco in Houston this Saturday evening, after coach Jesse Marsh made three changes to his squad.

Davies came on as a substitute and had a major impact in the 1-0 win over South Africa in the round of 32, but he is seeking to regain full fitness after recovering from a long-term injury.

Centre-back Luc de Fougeulle participates to strengthen Canada’s five-man back line, while Ali Ahmed returns to the starting lineup in midfield.

Nico Sigur enters the starting lineup, while Derek Cornelius, Nathan Saliba and Liam Miller return to the bench.

Morocco made one change, with the participation of defender Badr El-Din Halhal, replacing Shadi Riad, who suffered a knee injury during the round of 32 match against the Netherlands.

Below is the lineup for the two teams:

Canada: Maxime Crepeau, Alistair Johnston, Moise Pompeto, Luc de Fougeulle, Richie Larrea, Nico Ségur, Steven Eustaquio, Ali Ahmed, Tajon Buchanan, Jonathan David, Tani Oluwasyi.
