Sharjah Police concludes the activities of its anti-drug awareness platform
Sharjah, 6 July / WAM / The Sharjah Police General Command concluded the activities of its awareness platform for drug prevention, which it organized at “City Center Al Zahia” under the slogan “Protection of the Individual and Preservation of Society,” recording a remarkable turnout with the number of visitors exceeding 10,600 visitors, which reflects the success of the awareness efforts in reaching the target audience.
Brigadier Majid Sultan Al-Assam, Director of the Directorate of Prevention and Drug Control, confirmed that the broad community interaction with the platform reflects growing awareness of the importance of drug prevention, pointing to the effectiveness of awareness programs in consolidating the concepts of shared responsibility.
He explained that the platform provided an integrated package of educational activities and visual materials to introduce the negative effects of the pest, ways to prevent it, and ways to report crimes related to it.
The activities witnessed the organization of an awareness marathon in cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council to enhance the role of sport as a shield to protect youth, in addition to a performance by the military musical band of the Sharjah Academy of Police Sciences. The platform also allowed its visitors to benefit from the initiative to reduce traffic points, as part of the leadership’s efforts to enhance the quality of life and build a more aware and safe society.
