$115 million in revenues from Arab teams in the 2026 World Cup

The eight Arab teams participating in the 2026 World Cup collected financial revenues totaling about $115 million, thus accounting for 13% of the total prize budget approved by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
The Moroccan team topped the list of Arab revenues thanks to its results, and the ranking of the most prominent beneficiaries was as follows:
- Morocco: $21.5 million (after reaching the quarter-finals).
- Egypt: $17.5 million (following its historic arrival to the round of sixteen).
- Algeria: $13.5 million (to qualify for the round of 32).
On the other hand, the Arab teams that exited the tournament in the group stage, namely: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tunisia, Iraq, and Jordan, received a guaranteed minimum of $12.5 million for each team (including $10 million as a participation bonus, and $2.5 million in preparation allocations).
These record numbers come after FIFA’s decision to raise the total financial allocations for the tournament to $871 million, to help the national federations, which receive this money directly to manage their expenses and are not disbursed directly to the players, to face the high travel and accommodation costs for the expanded version that was held in North America.
