المملكة: “Education” will implement the integrated school model next year


intends to Government schools operate within a unified professional and operational framework, which enhances the quality of education, raises the efficiency of school performance, and contributes to achieving the best learning outcomes for students, by enhancing cooperation between schools, exchanging experiences, optimal investment of resources, and bearing joint responsibility for developing the educational process.

According to the founding document of the model, the implementation of “Integrated Schools” comes in response to the challenges facing schools, foremost of which are varying levels of performance, weak transfer of experiences and successful educational practices, limited continuous professional support, the need to raise the efficiency of investment of human and material resources, and build sustainable school leaders who lead development processes, in line with the objectives of the Ministry of Education and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Achieving integration between schools

The model is based on forming groups. Of the close or homogeneous government schools, each group is led by a general supervisor of the school group who is nominated from among the educational leaders who have previously managed schools and demonstrated their competence in improving performance.

The supervisor is responsible for leading improvement programs, supporting school principals, facilitating the exchange of experiences, following up on performance indicators, analyzing data, and directing resources according to educational priorities, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of performance and achieving integration between schools.

The model also maintains the independence of each school and the powers of its director, and does not introduce a level A new organizational system or one based on merging schools, but rather reorganizing the professional relationship between them to enhance cooperation and integration.

The integrated school management mechanism relies on transforming schools from individually operating units into an interconnected professional system that shares planning, exchange of experiences, professional development, analysis of performance indicators, and making decisions based on data, ensuring that support is directed according to the actual needs of each school, promoting the optimal use of human and material resources, and establishing a culture of teamwork and shared responsibility for learning outcomes.

Improving the quality of learning

The “Integrated Schools” model is based on a set of governing principles, the most prominent of which is considering the group of schools as a unit for improvement, enhancing joint responsibility for student learning, bringing leadership closer to the field, making professional development a continuous practice within the work environment, and adopting data and performance indicators as a basis for decision-making, in addition to maximizing the impact of shared resources, while preserving the administrative and executive independence of schools.

The model aims to improve the quality of teaching and learning in all the group’s schools, build school leaders capable of leading sustainable improvement, promote the exchange of experiences and successful educational practices, support data-based educational decision-making, create effective professional learning communities, raise the efficiency of investing in human and material resources, and contribute to achieving the goals of the Ministry of Education and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

It is expected that applying the model will contribute to improving the quality of school leadership, raising the efficiency of planning and implementation within schools, increasing the exchange of experiences between schools, and improving the quality of teaching. And learning, reducing gaps in performance, increasing the effectiveness of professional development programs, building a second class of school leaders, enhancing the ability of education departments to monitor performance and direct support, in addition to establishing a professional culture based on cooperation, accountability, and continuous improvement, in a way that supports achieving the goals of developing education in the Kingdom.
