The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police praises the development of the maritime security system and achieving 100% safety indicators

DUBAI, 12 JULY / WAM / His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, stressed the importance of continuing to develop the maritime security work system, and benefiting from modern technologies, innovation and artificial intelligence, which contributes to consolidating Dubai’s position as a world-leading city in security, safety and quality of life, and enhances community and visitors’ confidence in security services.
This came during his inspection of the Ports Police Station as part of the annual inspection program for public administrations and police stations. His Excellency Major General Hareb Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Sector Affairs, was accompanied by His Excellency Major General Eid Mohammed Thani, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, Brigadier Majid Al Suwaidi, Director of the General Administration of Police Stations, Brigadier Saeed Al Madhani, Deputy Director of the General Administration of Police Stations for Specialized Centers Affairs, Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, Director of the Ports Police Station, and Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Al Muhairi, Director of the Oversight Department. Inspection, and a number of officers.
His Excellency viewed a presentation on the Centre’s jurisdictional areas extending along the coast of Dubai, which includes 13 jurisdictional areas including six marine areas and seven coastal areas, in addition to islands and water channels, which reflects the extent of the security responsibility in protecting the coastal and marine areas of the emirate.
The center reviewed the most prominent performance indicators and operational results, as it achieved 100 percent in the indicators of feeling safe and feeling safe while walking at night, while the percentage of functional happiness reached 98.6 percent, and customer happiness reached 92.3 percent, in addition to providing 112,736 services to customers, implementing 205 development suggestions, implementing 10 specialized training courses, and cooperating with nine partners from various entities.
His Excellency reviewed the services provided to the public, which included issuing 82,706 reports for minor traffic accidents, 18,495 night work permits, responding to 1,312 inquiries through the customer relations management system, and issuing 484 “To Whom It May Concern” certificates, while the completion rate of services through smart channels reached 99 percent.
He listened to an explanation about the operational results in the maritime field, which included securing 51 maritime events and 23 maritime races, implementing 11 security campaigns, issuing 156 maritime safety reports and 53 security reports, dealing with 143 maritime accidents, and issuing 1,313 maritime violations, which reflects the center’s readiness in managing the maritime security system.
His Excellency was also briefed on the security and awareness initiatives implemented by the Centre, most notably the “Safe Beaches” initiative, which aims to enhance beach security, reduce crimes and drowning incidents, and address negative phenomena, in addition to awareness campaigns that have benefited more than 1,800 people, and specialized security campaigns to control jet skis, yachts, and floating restaurants.
At the conclusion of the tour, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri praised the efforts made by the members of the Ports Police Station, and the qualitative results they achieved in the areas of maritime security, speed of response, quality of services, and strengthening institutional partnerships, stressing the importance of continuing to develop the security work system, and benefiting from modern technologies, innovation, and artificial intelligence, which contributes to consolidating Dubai’s position as a world-leading city in security, safety, and quality of life, and enhances community and visitors’ confidence in the security services provided.
