Turkish Besiktas is close to finalizing the Mohamed Salah deal with the “largest offer”

A source close to the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the former Liverpool captain, revealed to Emirates Al-Youm that “The Pharaoh” is very close to signing for the Turkish club Besiktas, to strengthen the ranks of the team that finished last season in fourth place in the Premier League.

The source explained that the Besiktas administration made the highest financial offer among the Turkish clubs interested in including Salah, ahead of Galatasaray (the defending champion) and runner-up Fenerbahce. The financial value of the offer is close to the salary that the Egyptian star received with the Reds, amounting to about 400 thousand pounds sterling per week (equivalent to 1.96 million UAE dirhams).

The source added that the player’s agent, Rami Abbas, is preparing to enter the final round of negotiations with Turkish club officials to agree on the final frills of the contract before the official announcement. The financial aspect represented the main driver of the decision of Salah and his agent, which gave Besiktas the absolute advantage.

Although Galatasaray will participate in the Champions League next season, its financial offer came second, with little chance remaining to change the course of the deal if Galatasaray improves its offer in the coming days.

In a related context, Salah’s interest in moving to the Saudi Roshan League through (Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly portals) declined due to the submission of financial offers that were much lower than what was offered to him in the past two years. He also ruled out the idea of staying in the Premier League out of respect for Liverpool fans, rejecting an offer from Aston Villa, owned by Egyptian businessman Nassef Sawiris. In Italy, Juventus completely removed the player from its accounts due to the high salary cap, thwarting the desire of current Italy coach Luciano Spalletti, who was hoping to see his former student in Roma return to the Italian atmosphere.
