Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine receives accreditation from the American Council for Continuing Medical Education

DUBAI, 16 JULY / WAM / Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, which embodies the “Dubai Health” vision of improving human health through medical education and scientific research, has obtained accreditation from the American Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), which consolidates its position as an accredited global center for providing medical education programs and supporting the development of medical personnel’s skills.

The accreditation enhances the efforts of Dubai Health within its integrated academic health system, by enabling the university to provide continuing medical education programs that enhance the skills of medical personnel, in line with the best clinical practices applied globally. It also enables it to grant accredited training hours to doctors independently, recognized in more than 40 countries, which supports the fulfillment of professional development requirements and contributes to improving the quality of health services.

Dr. Hanan Al Suwaidi, Deputy Executive Director and Executive Director of Academic Affairs at Dubai Health, and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences for Academic Affairs, said: We are proud that Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences has obtained this global accreditation, which enhances Dubai Health’s presence as an integrated academic health system, and supports our ability to develop and provide advanced educational programs that contribute to empowering medical personnel and raising their readiness to keep pace with rapid global developments.

Dr. Dima Abdel Mannan, Director of New Programs and Accreditation at the University, confirmed that this accreditation will enable the University to organize accredited courses and workshops in line with international standards within an integrated educational environment, and will enhance opportunities for cooperation with health care institutions in the region to develop and provide joint educational activities that adhere to international standards and keep pace with developments in various medical specialties.

Professor Nabil Zari, Senior Director of the Learning Institute at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, said that this accreditation constitutes a pivotal milestone in the university’s journey, as it enhances our contribution to empowering doctors within the Dubai Health System, and keeps pace with its efforts to prepare a qualified generation of medical personnel.

He added: Through this accreditation, we will also work to consolidate our presence as an accredited regional center for excellence in continuing medical education, based on international standards that guarantee the quality of the outputs and the sustainability of their impact in developing clinical practice.
