Dubai Police achieves 99.8% response rate to emergency reports within less than 10 seconds

DUBAI, 21 JULY / WAM / The Dubai Police Command and Control Center handled more than 1.3 million calls during the second quarter of 2026, achieving a 99.8% rate of responding to emergency calls within less than 10 seconds, exceeding the target of 97%, in an achievement that reflects the efficiency of the emergency system, the speed of response, and the readiness of security personnel to deal with various reports.

This came during a meeting to evaluate the performance of the General Department of Operations for the second quarter, chaired by His Excellency Major General Hareb Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Sector Affairs at Dubai Police, and in the presence of His Excellency Major General Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Leadership, Brigadier Turki bin Faris, Director of the General Department of Operations, and a number of senior officers.

Major General Al Shamsi stressed that Dubai Police attaches great importance to customers’ comments and complaints as they are partners in developing security and administrative services, noting the adoption of the “secret shopper” mechanism to communicate with customers after receiving the service, measuring their level of satisfaction, analyzing their comments, and turning them into development opportunities that contribute to enhancing the quality of services and establishing a culture of continuous improvement in accordance with international best practices.

The meeting reviewed the operational performance indicators of the General Department of Operations, in addition to future projects aimed at developing the operational system and enhancing its readiness to keep pace with security changes. It also discussed a specialized study on human resources in the command and control room, which addressed future needs and mechanisms for raising operational efficiency in a way that supports rapid response to reports around the clock.

Indicators showed that police stations achieved a coverage rate of 98.8% for the areas of jurisdiction during the second quarter, exceeding the set target of 97%, which reflects the efficiency of the deployment of security patrols and the effectiveness of field plans in enhancing security and speed of response.

Major General Al Shamsi stressed that the results achieved reflect the continuous development in the operational system thanks to the integration of work between the General Directorate of Operations and the police stations, noting that the command and control room demonstrated high efficiency during the recent exceptional circumstances through quickly managing reports and directing patrols and competent authorities according to the highest standards of readiness.

He stressed the importance of accelerating the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the operational system, in line with the Dubai government’s directions towards expanding reliance on these technologies, because of their role in raising the efficiency of decision-making, accelerating response, and benefiting from big data to support security work and enhance the readiness of Dubai Police for the requirements of the future.
