The UAE strongly condemns the Houthi group’s statements regarding Saudi Arabia
Abu Dhabi, July 22 / WAM / The UAE condemned in the strongest terms the Houthi group’s statements towards the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the threats they included to ban maritime navigation against the Kingdom.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to ensure the implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution No. 2216 regarding Yemen, and Resolution No. 2722 regarding the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, stressing that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a right guaranteed by international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The Ministry affirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support in everything that would preserve its security
