4 stars in Barcelona reject the Julian Alvarez deal

A press report revealed today, Wednesday, that four Barcelona players opposed the possible deal involving the transfer of Atletico Madrid’s Argentine star, Julian Alvarez, to Barcelona.

The Catalan newspaper El Nacional indicated that there is a group within the Catalan club that prefers things to remain as they are, and claimed that a number of Barcelona stars do not welcome the contract deal with the Argentine striker.

This greatly contradicts the report of the Catalan newspaper “Sport” in late June, which indicated that Barcelona players were happy with the inclusion of Julian Alvarez, and that he would be a strong technical addition to the team.

But El Nacional newspaper revealed that there are four players in Barcelona’s ranks who are not enthusiastic about this deal.

She explained that the first of these players is Ferran Torres, who sees himself capable of being the main striker, and added that the Spanish striker feels underappreciated, so he is considering moving to Paris Saint-Germain in France this summer.

She pointed out that the list of objectors also includes the midfield duo, Gavi and Pedri, who are close to Ferran Torres.

She stated that Brazilian Rafinha, the Barcelona star, tends to limit himself to including the duo Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, and that there is no need to spend 150 million euros to include Julian Alvarez.

The newspaper’s report noted that Rafinha’s opinion also agrees with the approach of the club’s sporting director, Deco, and the team’s coach, Hansi Flick, regarding the necessity of moving toward less expensive deals.

She concluded her report by saying that Barcelona president Joan Laporta does not see this, but rather considers the Julian Alvarez deal a major priority.
