"Family development" It organizes workshops to enhance communication between senior citizens and children

ABU DHABI, 23rd July, 2017 (WAM) – The Family Development Foundation organized a group of interactive workshops and activities for children, at the Foundation’s Abu Dhabi Centre, with the participation of a number of senior citizens and members of the “Council of Elders”.

The workshops aim to enable senior citizens to share their experiences and knowledge with children in an interactive manner, by providing practical activities and experiences that allow children to learn from their experiences and acquire new skills and knowledge in an environment that combines benefit and fun.

The events witnessed the presence of a number of senior citizens to provide workshops, and the children shared stories from the past and various life experiences, in an educational and entertaining atmosphere that contributed to enriching the children’s experience and enhancing communication between generations.

These workshops are part of the activities and activities of the “Council of Elders”, which aims to enhance the participation of senior citizens in community and volunteer activities, in proportion to their potential and abilities, benefit from their experiences and energies, and motivate them to continue giving and participating in community initiatives and activities, thus enhancing their role as active partners in society.

The Family Development Foundation is keen to enhance the quality of life of senior citizens and residents, and enable them to continue their giving and active roles in the family and society, in a way that supports their presence and participation in various societal fields.
