Under the patronage of Hazza bin Zayed… "The eye is wet" It launches its first session tomorrow

Al Ain, July 24 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region, the activities of the first session of “Al Ain Wet” will begin tomorrow, Saturday, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority in “Al Sarooj Park – Al Ain”, and will continue until July 31 of this month.

The festival comes within the activities of the annual wet season, which began with Liwa’s lectures at the 22nd session of “Liwa Dates,” which concluded yesterday, moving on to its second stop to the Al Ain oases, as part of the Authority’s celebration of the agricultural heritage through the palm tree as a symbol of Emirati identity.

The Authority’s technical and organizational teams completed the final touches to launch the festival, in preparation for receiving participants and visitors at the competition sites, pavilions and accompanying events, ensuring the provision of an integrated regulatory environment that reflects the position that heritage festivals occupy in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and keeps pace with the aspirations of the participants and the public.

His Excellency Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festivals and Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, confirmed that the preparations went according to the approved timetable, noting that all work teams made their efforts to complete the various preparations, ensuring the organization of a festival worthy of the city of Al Ain and its agricultural and heritage status.

He said that “Al Ain Dates” represents an important station in the date season as part of the Authority’s efforts to preserve the agricultural heritage associated with the palm tree, and to enhance its presence in the conscience of society as an authentic symbol of the Emirati identity, pointing out that the festival combines agricultural competitions with heritage and recreational activities in a framework that reflects the Emirati person’s connection to his land, his palm trees, and his ancestral values.

He added that the first session of “Al Ain Rutab” includes a group of heritage and agricultural events, including 19 competitions for which 245 prizes were allocated with a total value exceeding 5 million dirhams, aiming to encourage farmers to improve the quality of production and highlight the best agricultural practices, which contributes to developing the agricultural sector and stimulating positive competition among farmers, in addition to various markets and sections that highlight the UAE’s agricultural heritage and support farmers and productive families.

Al Mazrouei pointed out that the Authority paid great attention to the accuracy of regulatory procedures and arbitration mechanisms, in a way that enhances the principles of justice and transparency and ensures equal opportunities among all participants, stressing that “Al Ain Wet” will present an integrated program of events, which reflects the specificity of the city of Al Ain and its ancient heritage.

He called on farmers to take the initiative to participate in the festival’s competitions, via the smart phone application “Falak Al-Namous,” which represents a comprehensive platform for following up on requests, reviewing regulations and dates, and monitoring results up to date. He also urged them to take advantage of this platform that celebrates their efforts and contributes to highlighting the quality of their production.

He also invited members of the community and visitors to the city of Al Ain to attend “Al Ain Dates” activities and enjoy its various programs, which combine heritage, agriculture and culture, and provide an experience that reflects the authenticity of “Dar Al Zain” and consolidates the position of the palm tree as an essential component in the history and heritage of the UAE.
