7 million pounds brings Haitham Hassan closer to wearing a Celtic shirt

The British newspaper “The Sun” revealed that the Scottish club Celtic is close to signing Egyptian international Haitham Hassan, the Spanish winger of Real Oviedo, during the current summer transfer period, after the player became one of the attacking targets for the club looking to strengthen its ranks.

The newspaper explained that Celtic made a first offer to sign Haitham Hassan, worth about 3.4 million pounds sterling, but Real Oviedo’s management rejected the offer, in light of its insistence on obtaining a greater financial compensation in exchange for abandoning the player.

The Scottish club is seeking to reach a final agreement with Oviedo, while the value of the release clause in the player’s contract is about 10 million pounds sterling, which is the number that represents the maximum limit for the possibility of his departure from the Spanish club.

Haitham Hassan’s shares rose during the recent period after his distinguished appearance with the Egyptian national team, which attracted the interest of a number of European clubs, before Celtic became one of the most prominent people interested in obtaining his services.

Haitham Hassan is 24 years old. He started his career at the French Chateauroux Academy, before moving to Spain’s Villarreal. He went through several experiences in Spanish football with clubs such as Sporting Gijon and Real Valladolid, then settled with Real Oviedo, where he performed at remarkable levels.

The player is good at playing in the wing position, and is characterized by speed and skill in individual confrontations, in addition to his ability to create opportunities and move between the lines, which are qualities that made him a target for Celtic to enhance their attacking power.
