The Moon Village Association organizes pioneering events in the country during 2025

Vienna, 4 December / WAM / The Moon Village Association (MVA), a non-governmental organization concerned with promoting international cooperation to develop the “Comorian economy”, announced a partnership with the Emirates Council for the Development of Labor Relations, to establish the Moon Village Center in Abu Dhabi.

Under this company, Abu Dhabi will become a major site for celebrating the International Moon Day in July next year, and will host the association’s ninth annual workshop and symposium in November 2025.

This partnership, which was announced during the association’s eighth annual workshop and symposium, which was held in Luxembourg, coinciding with the UAE’s celebrations of the 53rd Union Day, confirms the country’s growing position in the global space sector and its commitment to developing innovation and diplomacy in this field.

It is worth noting that the International Moon Day, proposed by the Moon Village Association and approved by the United Nations, falls on July 20 of each year, and is celebrated in commemoration of the first human landing on the moon in 1969, and for the purpose of highlighting the achievements of countries in exploring the moon and raising awareness of sustainable exploration initiatives.

The association plans to organize a major event in Abu Dhabi next year 2025, in addition to smaller events around the world.

The association’s annual workshop and symposium discussed aspects of lunar exploration and exploitation, with the participation of space agencies, governments, industries, and policy makers, with the aim of promoting a sustainable and peaceful presence of humanity on the moon.

Dr. Giuseppe Ribaldi, President of the Moon Village Association, said that the UAE is a major partner in the development of human activity on the Moon thanks to its advanced space program.

For his part, Dr. Nasr Al-Sahhaf, Chairman of the United Nations Committee for the International Moon Day, said that the moon belongs to everyone, expressing the Committee’s appreciation for Abu Dhabi’s plans to host this event, which strengthens the strategic partnership with the Emirates.

For his part, Dr. Salem bin Abdullah Al Wahshi, CEO of the Emirates Council for the Development of Labor Relations, said: “We are pleased to have been chosen to host the most prominent activities of the association for the year 2025, as the objectives of the Moon Village are in line with the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, in providing opportunities new and strengthening civilization.
