Sheikha Hoor heads the Sharjah Art Foundation, which she founded in 2009 as a supporter and catalyst for the arts, not only in Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates, but also at the regional and international levels. Since 2003, she has also taken over the management of the Sharjah Biennial, which, under her supervision, has turned into a prestigious international platform that brings together contemporary artists. On an international level, Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi curated the Second Lahore Biennale 2020, and was chosen as artistic director of the sixth session of the Aichi Triennale in 2025, becoming the first person to hold this role from outside Japan. She was also appointed artistic director of the twenty-fifth session of the Sydney Biennale in 2026.
