المملكة: The head of Meteorology confirms the readiness of weather observatories for a more accurate future

Today, the CEO of the National Center of Meteorology, Dr. Ayman bin Salem Ghulam, conducted an inspection tour that included the Riyadh Observatory, as part of a comprehensive program to rehabilitate meteorological observatories in various regions of the Kingdom.
This initiative aims to develop business and enhance the readiness of observatories in line with the centre’s future plans and strategies.

Future plans for the observatory

During the tour, Dr. Ghulam was briefed on the future plans of the observatory and the most prominent challenges facing it, stressing the importance of integration between departments to ensure the provision of accurate and reliable services that meet the needs of various sectors.
Dr. Ghulam confirmed that the observatory rehabilitation project comes within the center’s commitment to modernizing its infrastructure.

Improving the accuracy of weather forecasts

He pointed out that this step aims to improve the accuracy of weather forecasts and enhance the operational capabilities of observatories, in a way that supports achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
He also praised the vital role played by the Riyadh Observatory in analyzing and monitoring weather phenomena, appreciating the great efforts made by the Observatory’s employees in implementing development programs that contribute to raising the efficiency of performance and quality of services.
