Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed crowns British racer Lando Norris with the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix title

ABU DHABI, December 8, 2017 – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, crowned British racer Lando Norris from the McLaren team, with the title of the 16th Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix, at the end of the final round of the championship. His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, crowned the Spanish racer Carlos Sainz with the second place award, while His Excellency Khalid bin Sulayem, President of the Emirates Motor and Motorcycle Organization, crowned the racer Charles Leclerc, from the Emirate of Monaco, with the third place award. His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Etihad Aviation Group, handed over the Constructors’ Award to Zak Brown, CEO of the McLaren Team.
Next year, Yas Island will celebrate by hosting the 17th edition of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix, so that the capital, Abu Dhabi, will continue to host the final race of the championship at Yas Marina Circuit until 2030.
