"FIFA" 6 seats are allocated to Asia in the 2027 Women’s World Cup

Dubai, December 11 / WAM / The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Council announced, during its meeting held yesterday via video communication technology, that the 2027 Women’s World Cup will be held in Brazil during the period from June 24 to July 25, 2027.

The tournament will witness the participation of 32 teams, with 29 seats allocated directly to the continental federations, which were distributed, such that the Asian Football Confederation gets 6 seats, the African Confederation gets 4 seats, the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean (CONCACAF) gets 4 seats, and the South American Confederation gets 4 seats. 3 seats, with Brazil automatically qualifying as the host country, and its seat is deducted from the South American Confederation’s share, while the Oceania Confederation gets a direct seat. One, while the European Football Association (UEFA) gets 11 direct seats, and the remaining three teams are determined through a qualifying play-off tournament that includes 10 teams and is held in two stages.
