"Federal tax": 450 thousand companies registered in "Corporate tax"

Dubai, December 19 / WAM / His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, confirmed that the number of companies registered in corporate and business tax has exceeded 450,000 companies so far, which reflects a great response from the business sector to adhere to the new tax system.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the second forum of the Authority’s strategic partners, which was held today in Dubai, he stressed the importance of cooperation with partners to achieve the Authority’s goals and support the national economy.
He explained that the forum, which is held annually, represents an opportunity to appreciate and honor the partners, who numbered 64 partners this year, noting that the authority’s success in achieving its goals depends largely on their support.
He pointed out that the Authority is constantly working to develop cooperation with partners and expand the scope of awareness campaigns and training workshops to ensure a better understanding of the tax system and facilitate the compliance process for customers.
Al Bustani stressed that the Authority continues to develop its electronic platforms with the aim of reducing bureaucracy and improving customer experience.
He described the year 2024 as “the year of zeroing out bureaucracy,” as operations were comprehensively reviewed, including reducing the number of required fields and reducing the time for completing transactions, noting that these improvements contributed to raising the level of customer happiness and enhancing the ease of procedures.
He added that the Authority organized intensive awareness campaigns during the current year, including corporate and business tax, value-added tax, and excise tax, stressing that these campaigns aim to enhance awareness of common mistakes and raise the level of cooperation between the Authority and companies.
He touched on the efforts made to facilitate the process of registering companies in the corporate tax system, pointing to a plan that has been implemented since last February that depends on setting registration dates according to the date of renewal of commercial licenses.
He explained that this plan aims to give each group of companies sufficient time to submit registration applications, and prevent the backlog of applications.
He pointed out that the Authority is working in coordination with the Departments of Economic Development and other partners to inform qualified companies of the importance of registration, indicating that this effort will continue until the registration of all qualified companies is completed.
