Find out about the charging prices for electric cars in the UAE

The Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company (UAEV), the first vehicle charging network wholly owned by the UAE government, announced the adoption of the electric vehicle charging tariff recently introduced by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, to be implemented in January 2025.
This tariff constitutes an important step to support the sustainability and expansion of the charging network, noting that electric vehicle charging services have remained free since the tariff was first announced last May. This initiative reflects UAEV’s commitment to providing high-quality services, ensuring equitable access to its network, and supporting the UAE’s vision of building a sustainable future.
Unified and transparent charging fees will be implemented for electric vehicle users starting from January 2025, with the tariff set at 1.2 dirhams/kWh plus value-added tax for charging operations using direct current, and 0.70 dirhams/kWh and value-added tax for charging operations using alternating current. Ensures fair and consistent pricing that supports the network’s operational excellence.
UAEV seeks to enhance the experience of driving electric vehicles by launching its mobile application, which provides practical features such as easy search for charging stations, monitoring the status of stations directly, and making payments smoothly, which enables electric vehicle users to use the charging network with great efficiency.
Engineer Sherif Al Olama, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company (UAEV), said that the launch of the unified charging tariff and innovative smart solutions such as the mobile application represents a pioneering step in the UAE’s journey towards achieving sustainable mobility.
He added that this achievement confirms the firm commitment to adopting the latest technologies to enhance the experience of electric vehicle users. By expanding our network and aligning it with the UAE’s climate neutrality strategy by 2050, we support building a more sustainable and vibrant future. By 2030, the UAEV network will include a thousand charging stations strategically distributed. Through urban centres, highways and major transportation points within the Emirates.
The main sites will cover all emirates of the country, to ensure comprehensive access for electric vehicle users both between and within cities.
