المملكة: The Kingdom praises the expansion of the membership of the Executive of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization
The Kingdom, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, participated today in the extraordinary session of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, which was held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, in the presence of a number of ministers of member states, and with the participation of a number of representatives of Arab countries in the organization.
In a speech during the meeting, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, praised the expansion of the membership of the Executive Council of the organization from 9 to 11 members.
He described this as an important step that contributes to enhancing the participation of Arab countries in making vital decisions related to the development of the civil aviation sector in the region, and enhancing cooperation between Arab countries in this field, which is one of the basic pillars of achieving sustainable development in the region.
Review key issues and challenges
Al-Duailej said: “The 71st session of the Executive Council meeting, which was held yesterday, resulted in a review of the pivotal issues and challenges facing the organization and the civil aviation sector, and work on formulating innovative solutions that enhance its efficiency and support its sustainable growth.
He continued: This comes through discussing the performance reports of the subcommittees emanating from the organization, and following up on the implementation of previous recommendations that showed tangible progress in our path towards achieving the organization’s ambitious vision.
He added: Member states have achieved development in air traffic, as the percentage of seats for Arab countries constitutes approximately 27% compared to seats for countries around the world, and we still believe that the potential is much higher.

Organizing training activities
Al-Duailej said: The work requires an intense effort from all member states, by enhancing cooperation and regional integration in air connectivity.
He praised the organization’s work in organizing training activities, noting the importance of building the capabilities of human cadres through advanced training programs, and activating channels for exchanging experiences and knowledge between the organization’s countries, to enhance the sector’s competitiveness at the regional and international levels.
He called for adopting digital solutions and advanced technologies that contribute to improving the efficiency of operations, enhancing the traveler experience, and improving the quality of services provided.

The importance of integrating roles
The Chairman of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of integrating roles, continuous coordination and joint cooperation between Arab countries to confront the challenges in the civil aviation sector, and unifying efforts to ensure the sustainable growth of this vital sector, and enhancing its position at the regional and international levels, in a way that contributes to advancing The wheel of development and achieving common success for all member states.
After that, the meeting discussed a number of topics, including agreeing to increase the number of members of the Executive Council from 9 to 11 members, adding the Republic of Tunisia and the Republic of Yemen to the Council.
Determine priorities and develop joint work programs with ICAO regional offices and similar regional organizations, to support the enhancement, safety and security of air transport, raise capacity and efficiency of air navigation, protect the aviation environment, and be able to avoid duplication and unify efforts in the region.
