Al-Wahda left “Two Cups”… and its chances in the league are not great

Al-Wahda team is going through great pressure this season, after Al-Anabi left the President’s Cup in the round of 16 by losing to Al-Wasl (1-3), and exited the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup competition against Al-Sharjah (won 1-0 in the first leg, lost 2-4 in the second leg). Meanwhile, it seems to have little chance of competing for the ADNOC Professional League title, as it ranked third with 21 points, seven points behind “leader” Sharjah.
As a result of the decline in the team’s results, the unit’s management decided to dismiss Norwegian coach Ronnie Deila and appoint Slovenian coach Darko Milanic to lead the team and restore its balance.

In two matches, and defeat in one match, the level of “Al-Annabi” gradually declined before it finally achieved victory in the 11th round at the expense of Dibba Al-Hisn (4-1), and a strong confrontation awaits it in the round. The 12th against its neighbor Al-Jazira next Saturday.
Al-Wahda hopes to regain the league shield that has been absent for 14 years, which it came close to in some of the seasons during which it competed for the title, but it was unable to achieve it amid a state of frustration that struck the club’s fans.
For his part, sports analyst, Dr. Jamal Al Hosani, confirmed that Al Wahda Club’s chances of competing for the ADNOC Professional League title are weak, pointing out that theoretically, the “Al Annabi” season ended early in competing for any title with the team’s exit from the President’s Cup and Abu Dhabi Bank Cup tournaments. Islamic.
A former board member of Al-Wahda Club told Emirates Al-Youm that “the points difference with the clubs competing for the league title has widened, which makes it difficult for the team to compete for the title,” explaining: “I see that it is difficult for Al-Wahda to compete for the first two places.” The second and third place may be the closest that the team will compete for.”
He added: “Planning for a long-term period is the best option, as when the management is frank with itself and with the public about the club’s current situation, the matter becomes more realistic and easier, as it is possible to actually begin preparing for the next season, and knowing the team’s needs at the contract level.” .
He pointed out that the most prominent thing that Al-Wahda team lacks is ferocity in the midfield and the same in attack. He said: “I see that Al-Wahda has no problem in the defense line, but the matter is related to its need for signings in the midfield and attack, as it is important for the team to be ferocious in attack.” Playing against its rivals is what the team lacks. For example, we saw Manchester City when it suffered many injuries in the midfield and lacked ferocity in attack, and its results were negatively affected.”
He continued: “The matter, as I mentioned, is due to the management’s point of view in dealing with the team’s current situation, by setting the club’s goals and ambitions.”
