A cold wave sweeps South Korea and the temperature drops to about 15 below zero

The cold wave continues in South Korea today, with a cold wave warning issued in most regions of the country.
Temperatures drop during the morning in the central and interior regions of the eastern part of North Jeolla Province and North Gyeongsang Province to minus 15 degrees Celsius, and in the southern regions to minus 10 degrees Celsius, according to the South Korean Yonhap News Agency.
It is expected that temperatures during the day in most areas of the country will reach about zero, but the perceived temperatures will be below zero due to strong winds.
At five o’clock in the morning (2000 GMT), temperatures in the capital, Seoul, Incheon, located 30 kilometers west of Seoul, and Daejeon in the center of the country reached minus 11.6 degrees Celsius, minus 11.5 degrees Celsius, and minus 12.7 degrees Celsius, respectively. It was also recorded in Daegu, located 235 kilometers southeast of Seoul, and Busan, located 320 kilometers southeast of Seoul, at minus 10.5 degrees Celsius and 9.7 degrees Celsius. Celsius below zero, respectively.
The South Korean Meteorological Administration said it expects maximum daytime temperatures to range between minus 6 degrees Celsius and above zero degrees Celsius.
