The UAE sends 700 tons of food supplies to those affected by floods in Somalia

As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support people affected by natural disasters, the UAE sent 700 tons of urgent food supplies to those affected by the floods that swept several regions in Somalia.

This aid comes within the directives of the wise leadership to enhance humanitarian efforts and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Somali people, as the aid shipments include basic food baskets to meet the needs of approximately 150,000 people from affected families, and to provide urgent support to communities affected by the floods.

In this context, His Excellency Ahmed Juma Al Rumaithi, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia, stressed that this aid embodies the UAE’s commitment to stand by the brotherly Somali people in these difficult circumstances.

His Excellency added: “This initiative is an extension of the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and Somalia, which reflects the keenness of the UAE’s wise leadership to provide all forms of support and support to the affected communities. We will continue to work in cooperation with local and international bodies to ensure that this aid reaches the largest possible number of people.” Those in need, which contributes to alleviating their suffering and accelerating the recovery process.”
