Rania Al-Mashat: The Egyptian economy achieved a growth rate of 3.5% in the first quarter of the current fiscal year

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, confirmed during her participation in a symposium organized by the National Press Authority that the Egyptian economy is heading to achieve a growth rate of up to 4% during the current fiscal year, reviewing the economy’s performance during the first quarter of the year.< /p>
The Minister explained that the GDP growth rate reached 3.5% in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2023/2024, compared to By 2.7% during the same period of the last fiscal year. It also indicated that a number of economic sectors continued to achieve positive growth rates, as the communications and information technology sector recorded a growth of 12.2%, the transportation and storage sector by 15.6%, the tourism sector by 8.2%, the electricity sector by 7.4%, in addition to the social services sector by 4.5% and the Agriculture by 2.65%.
Al-Mashat added that these results reflect the state’s vision to promote diversification. The structural structure of the Egyptian economy, by focusing on vital sectors such as agriculture, industry, communications, and information technology, in addition to sectors concerned with human and social development.
The Minister confirmed that efforts are continuing. To achieve sustainable growth rates, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, and enhance the position of the Egyptian economy at the regional and international levels.
